Homecoming Football Game Was Fun From Start To Finish!

The Northfield Raiders came into their Homecoming game with a 3-2 record. The game got off to a fast start as Brayden Brakke returning the opening kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown! The Raider defense held strong on Rochester Century’s opening drive forcing a punt. The Raiders didn’t let off the gas as they took their first offensive drive for a touchdown with Monaghan rushing in from 13 yards out. Century’s second drive didn’t go far with Northfield forcing another punt letting the Raiders start their third drive from their own 40 yard line. They were able to drive to Century’s 11 yard line before the first quarter ended.

The second quarter started with Kaiser throwing a nice pass to Dom DiMaggio for a Raider touchdown. Northfield’s next possession also resulted in a touchdown after starting on their own 9 yard line and getting some nice running plays from Mellgren, Murphy and Monaghan. The Raiders worked themselves out to the 27 yard line when they ran a nice reverse with Koep coming across from the slot position and running 73 yards for another Raider touchdown. The Raider defense again didn’t let the Century offense really go anywhere forcing another early punt and good field position for the Raiders on their own 35 yard line. Capping the Raiders fifth straight drive resulting with a touchdown was Managhan getting wide open and Kaiser, rolling to his right passing him a nice ball for a 25 yard touchdown. Kicker Steven Kallestad was perfect in the first half. Halftime score was 35-0
