Northfield Raider Football 34-0 over New Prague

Northfield wins 34-0

Northfield and New Prague both came into this game with 2-1 records and both teams were coming off wins the previous week.

The Raiders, won the coin toss and elected to receive the opening kickoff. They took their first possession for a touchdown covering 75 yards in just over 4 minutes spreading the ball around and Kam Kaiser eventually calling his own number, running around the right side for his first rushing touchdown of the night. The defense held strong and actually pushed New Prague backwards giving the Raider great field position to start their second drive. Again on a balanced rushing and passing drive the Raiders drove down and scored on a Kaiser rushing touchdown. With the soccer player Stephen Kallestad converting both extra points the Raiders ended the first quarter leading 14-0.

New Prague was able to drive all the way to the Northfield 6 yard line but the Raiders defense showed their speed, athleticism and made some great open field tackles. The second quarter finished with more balanced offense, stout defense and Kaiser rushing for his third touchdown on the night. 21-0 was the half-time score.

Third quarter cruised by pretty quickly as the teams exchanged field position.

The fourth quarter the Raiders used the balanced pass/run offense to drive for a touchdown with 9 minutes left in the game. Kaiser again rushing for his 4th touchdown! Ella Pagal also got a rushing touchdown in the final minutes. It was nice to see soccer player Stephen Kallestad back kicking tonight as he went 4 for 5 on extra points!

The Raiders looked as good as we’ve seen them all year.
