Raider Boys Track and Field Takes First Place in Regular Season Finale

The Raider boys track and field squad closed out their regular season on Thursday, May 18th with a a first-place finish in Red Wing. Northfield scored 94 points in their triumphant performance, Red Wing scored 61 points, and Owatonna scored 28 points.

“The team had a very strong performance against Red Wing and the Owatonna JV squad,” said boys head coach Tyler Balow. “Owatonna was resting their varsity athletes for the True Team State Meet which took place on Friday.” Despite this, the Raiders had a phenomenal performance posting 45 personal bests including a five-second season best from the 4×200 relay of Dominic DiMaggio, Sam Folland, Nathan Amundson, and Bradyen Brakke.

100m: 1st place- Brayden Brakke (11.23)

            3rd place- Jackson Jerdee (11.84)

110 Hurdles: 1st place- Johannes Schroeer (16.87)

                      2nd place- Caden Skluzacek (19.07)

200m: 4th place- Malcolm Poole (25.00)

300 Hurdles: 1st place- Johannes Schroeer (43.67)

                       2nd place- Stephen Kallestad (45.92)

400m: 4th place- Ben Flory (56.90)

800m: 2nd place- Carter Schlomann (2:11.18)

           3rd place- Carter Steenblock (2:17.13)

1600m: 1st place- Brecken Riley (4:48.70)

              2nd place-Carter Schlomann (4:49.62)

3200m: 1st place- Nathan Amundson (10:00.62)

              3rd place- Fletcher Aylin (11:15.43)

Discus: 1st place- Joseph Schulz (141’03”)

High Jump: 1st place- Kamarion Gant (5’10)

                    2nd place- Malcolm Poole (5’6)

Long Jump: 3rd place- Kamarion Gant (18’8)

Pole Vault: 1st place- Stephen Feig (12’9)

                   3rd place- Ben Anderson (11’6)

Triple Jump: 2nd place- Kamarion Gant (39’7.75)

                     4th place- Stephen Kallestad (37’10)

4×100 relay: 2nd place (Emmett Norrie, Nich Johnson, Dominic DiMaggio)

4×200 relay: 1st place (Dominic DiMaggio, Sam Folland, Nathan Amundson, Bradyen Brakke)

4×400 relay: 2nd place (Kamarion Gant, Malcolm Poole, Sam Swedin, Stephen Kallestad)

4 x800 relay: 1st place (Sam Folland, Isaac Schleif, Henry Vrtis, Brecken Riley)

The Northfield JV squad will compete in the JV Big 9 Conference meet on Monday and the varsity team will compete in their conference meet on Thursday.
