The Raiders won a hard fought battle against their Highway 3 rivals on Tuesday night, the Faribault Falcons. This game was very special as it was Senior night for the Raiders in what was supposed to be the last home game, before their game against Winona was rescheduled to Wednesday. Because of this the starting lineup for the Raiders looked a bit different with fan favorite Charlie Monaghan taking over for Sophomore Guard Isaiah Mahal, and Nolan Thompson replacing Junior Forward Austin Koep.

The Raiders came out swinging taking a 9 point lead with the Senior lineup. The Raiders slowed down when the regular starters came in, eventually conceding the lead to the Falcons. The Falcons came into this game hungry as they had a record of 1-23 entering the contest and had nothing to lose. The Raiders struggled mightily towards the end of the first half, trailing by 6 points.

The Raiders came out of the half slow, extending the Falcon’s lead to as much as 10 before mounting the comeback that would seal the game for the Raiders. Led by the sharpshooter Soren Richardson, Northfield led a comeback to regain the lead near the 7 minute mark. Northfield’s runs came as a result of offensive rebounding, primarily by senior bigs Dom DiMaggio and Nolan Thompson. While it came down to the wire, the Raiders managed to eke out a win in this celebration for our senior class. I would like to give a shout-out to all of our senior players and managers: Soren Richardson, Dominick DiMaggio, Sam Scherer, Elijah Bisel, Nolan Thompson, Thomas Weber, Alvin Ntare, Charlie Monaghan, and Haden Kelly.
