On January 21 the Gator Boys Swim and Dive Team traveled up to the University of Minnesota to compete at the Class A State True Team Championship Meet. Going into the meet the Raider/Gator boys were seeded third only behind Breck/Blake and St. Thomas Academy, who are both private schools. However, schools like Orono, Mankato East, and Monticello were seeded very close behind and had there eyes on Northfield. Going into the meet Coach Davis told his athletes a quote by Michael Phelps: “I won’t predict anything Historic, but nothing is impossible.” The team responded by clutching third place and outscoring the other public schools by over a hundred points. Northfield finished 3rd place out of the 12 schools that qualified for the state meet. They also were the best public school in the field.
