Northfield Boys Basketball was able to take the win against Albert Lea, 90-84. Albert Lea came out swinging in the aggressive matchup. The Tigers had Northfield second guessing if they could pull off the triumph, but the Raiders were able to adapt and overcome with senior Soren Richardson and junior Austin Koep leading the way.

TJ Collins and his Albert Lea posse started the game off hungry, holding the lead early in the first half. However, Soren Richardson who dropped a whopping 40 points during the game, was able to take that lead right back. Both sides played a vicious game and the fouls racked up with Northfield ending the night with 23 total fouls and Albert Lea finished not so far off with 24 fouls. Toward the end of the second half both sides were testing to see if the other team had been practicing their free throws. It was neck and neck and Northfield had the lead by four. Albert Lea wasn’t able to keep up with Richardson and Koep’s outstanding follow-through on their free throws and the game came to a close.

The Raiders beat Albert Lea 90-84 Tuesday night, at Northfield High School.
